For all those of us who miss our dearly departed grandparents, with their Depression-era good sense, this is kind of a sweet read. And the little dash of sarcasm at the end made me smile.
I love that posted that pic, and that caption. I, too, and distressed by the price of toast. And most other things, for that matter. The other day it really chafed me to pay three dollars at Wegmans for a smallish bunch of dandelion greens, since, in another few weeks, I can go get them for free, in ridiculous quantities, assuming I can find a nice clean field not too close to the road. But they WERE good, and it is cool that they had them at the supermarket.

Well, if you think of a muffin as a personal cake, maybe it better justifies the price.
Ugh, now I want a muffin.
